Citronnade a la Clotilde – la reine des citronades

Citronnade à la Menthe

– one large lemon
– two liters of water (preferably filtered or bottled)
– twelve leaves of fresh mint

Walk barefoot into the kitchen. Slice the lemon in two, juice it and pour the juice into a large jug. Add in the water. Rinse the mint leaves under cool water, and add them into the jug. Stir with a long wooden spoon. Take a moment to recuperate after this strenuous activity.

Cover the jug, and let rest in the fridge for a couple of hours. Take a nap in the meantime. When you wake up, put a few ice cubes in a glass, stir the lemonade again, and pour some in your glass. If a mint leaf falls out, keep it as a pretty garnish, or put it back in the pool with its sisters.

Drink avidly. Press the cold jug on each of your cheeks, eyes closed. Pour yourself another glass, return the jug to the fridge, and go sit close to that fan.

Repeat every hour, or as needed.”

Citronada  cu menta

– o lamaie mare

– 2 litri apa (de preferat filtrata sau apa plata)

– 12 frunze de menta proaspata

Intra desculta in bucatarie. Taie lamaia in 2, stoarce-i sucul  si toarna-l intr-un vas mare. Adauga apa. Spala frunzele de menta in apa rece si pune-le in vas. Amesteca utilizand o lingura lunga, din lemn. Odihneste-te un moment pentru a-ti reveni din aceasta activitate obositoare.

Acopera vasul si lasa-l la frigider cateva ore. Intre timp, dormi putin. Cand te trezesti, pune cateva cuburi de gheata intr-un pahar, amesteca din nou limonada, toarna niste limonada in pahar. Daca se strecoara si o frunza de menta, pastreaz-o ca decor dragut, sau pune-o inapoi in vas cu surorile ei.

Bea cu pofta. Preseaza paharul rece peste obraji, ochii inchisi. Mai toarna-ti un pahar, pune vasul inapoi in frigider, si du-te sa te asezi langa ventilator.

Repeta la fiecare ora, sau ori de cate ori este nevoie…

  1. Imi inchipui o incapere foarte calduroasa, cu un ventilator in tavan, geamuri deschise, caldura, pahar rece pe obrajii fierbinti. Teatral, dar limonada cred ca e buna. Caut menta verde si pun cuburi la congelator.

  2. Chiar este buna. Poti sa adaugi apa minerala cand o servesti, daca vrei ceva mai „fizy”. Trecem „in style” de caldurile din vara aceasta:)
